Gas out wood in
This home owner saw our advert in a parish magazine, then read our reviews before one of our surveyors visited their home to discuss options for replacing their extremely inefficient gas fire with a multi-fuel stove.
We removed the existing gas fire (pressure tested by a Gas Safe Engineer) and gas liner from the chimney. We maintained the original height and width of the opening and excavated it down to floor level.
We lined the chimney with Class 1 316-Grade stainless steel flexible liner, installed a register plate, lined the opening with a heat resistant decorative board and fitted an an angle iron frame to the front of the fireplace.
We laid a honed black granite hearth and installed a Woodwarm Phoenix Fireblaze 6Kw Profiled Flat Top multi-fuel stove.
The finished look is very popular, with the metal frame and painting the internals of the opening.
