No chimney – no problem

A fireplace is a common feature and focal point of houses worldwide.  A hearth seems to fulfil a basic human need and we are installing more and more stoves and boilers in situations where there is no existing chimney – mainly in new houses or converted buildings.

Fuels

With rising gas and oil prices, supply instability and an increasing environmental awareness more and more people are looking at wood based heating systems.  These can be run from a woodburning stove with a boiler fitted or a boiler that burns biomass fuels such as wood, wood chips or pellets.

Size

There are many different models of stove producing varying amounts of hot water for use as hot water or in a central heating system.  For example a small wood burning stove such as the Charnwood Country 4 with a boiler can produce 2.2kw for domestic hot water.  At our showroom we have an HDG pellet boiler and heating system that is capable of producing 25kw.  The system includes a heat accumulator and is enough to heat a very large house.
